Happy Chanukah!

Chag Sameach from a wintery Kutz Camp!

With the dust from Biennial settling, and Chanukah coming to a close, we here at Kutz wanted to take a quick moment to reflect on the blessing in our lives that is the Kutz Alumni family. Our Kehilah was out in force at Biennial, with well over 250 alum in attendance, not including the additional 50 newer alumni participating in the NFTY Leaders Assembly! To see the sea of friendly, familiar faces, almost all proudly sporting our gorgeous “Kutz Alumni” pins, brought warmth to our hearts.

In reflecting on this past summer, as we do each off-season, we were struck again by the far-reaching impact of the work that we do. The numbers say it all: Our participants came to us from an incredible 119 different congregations spanning 30 states, Canada, The Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, and Israel. Our alumni network, which numbers in the thousands, touches every state in the union and spans around the globe.

Kutz’s impact can be felt not only in the size of our Alumni group, but also in their leadership. 43 of this year’s NFTY regional board members representing 17 of the 19 NFTY regions are Kutz Alumni, and so are 166 different temple youth group board members across the country.

Though we only come together one month a year, our community remains a strong place of support, friendship, and caring through all of the seasons. As we spend these cold winter months dreaming of summer, we are warmed and comforted to know that beyond our doorstep lays a world full of our Kutz Family lighting the Hanukah Menorah right alongside us.

From all of us here at Kutz to you and your family, Chag Sameach, and a happy, healthy, and peaceful new year.
